Susanna Chaplin is a versatile artist and theatre designer whose career balances the scale of the stage with the intimacy of traditional craft. Based in Shoreham-by-Sea, she is a prolific member of the Wick Theatre Company, where she has contributed set design, construction, and scenic painting to dozens of productions ranging from Frankenstein to The Merchant of Venice.
Her fine art practice is deeply personal, rooted in her skills as a willow basket maker, printmaker, and painter. Drawing constant inspiration from the sanctuary of her garden, her work captures the vibrant "joy of spring" through botanical paintings and monotypes.
A regular exhibitor at the Skyway Gallery and participant in Artists Open Houses, Susanna also shares her expertise through community workshops, blending her love for natural materials with a lifelong commitment to the creative arts.
