Sandra Peaty
Painting
Sandra paints landscapes, flowers, and nature, inspired by her love of gardening.

Sandra spent her childhood in East Yorkshire. After training at Bretton Hall as an Art teacher, she moved into social care work as a carer and advocate. For the last 20 years of her working life art, teaching and social care skills all contributed to her work managing projects to support people develop their creative lives at Pallant House Gallery. Now retired, she is enjoying the space and time to reconnect with her own art interests and practice. Sandra works mainly in Oils and Acrylic. The landscape and flora of the Yorkshire Wolds and the South Downs are a continuing love and subject interest. Sandra is also a lifelong gardener. In recent years flowers have come to dominate the subject matter in her art. As well as wanting to express the immediate joy that nature brings to her, flowers also associate strongly with memories and stories from her past.
