Penny has always enjoyed making craft projects like quilting, tapestry, and mosaics. In 2004, she completed a foundation course at City College and went on to study at Brighton University to study Fine Art Painting. She found that she preferred medium acrylics because of how she likes to paint.

Penny is interested in how colour and shape interact with each other. She has also learned different sewing techniques and tapestry. She extends her practice by designing and creating art quilts, tapestries and embroideries.
