Painting
The relationship of buildings to their natural surroundings is given an imaginative twist in the work of this artist.

After some years in the furniture industry, I studied interior architecture at Brighton College of Art and the Royal College of Art. This led to a career as a designer of exhibitions and museums, as well as a professional illustrator.
Eleven or twelve years ago I began concentrating on my painting style more fully and it is clear from a quick glance at my website, how my style has developed. When asked what sort of paintings I do, I find quick definitions tricky, but I would say it is “imaginative realism“.
My paintings are pictures that combine elements drawn from a number of different sources, namely memories, sketches and photos to form an image that seems to make sense to me and, I hope, to others.
They are painted, in heightened colours, in acrylic, usually on canvas and many of the images include architecture.
